Reiki Healing

Reiki (pronounced ray-kee) is a system of natural healing involving the laying on of hands and is thousands of years old.  It is believed to have originated over 2500 years ago from the Mu people who passed it to Tibetan Buddhist monks.  It was rediscovered in the 1800’s by Mikao Usui and the Usui system of Reiki was developed to be easily given and received by anyone.

Literal translation of Reiki, as written in Japanese, is Rei – spiritual wisdom, universal; and Ki – life force.  Reiki healing energy can dispel blocks of negativity and balance the emotional and physical body.

Reiki treatments are given by the practitioner placing their hands on various positions of the recipients (fully clothed) body and allowing the free flow of energy to pass through.  Recipients may feel differing effects such as increased warmth, cold or a tingling sensation.  Whatever is experienced the general effect of the treatment is the same with the recipient receiving the correct energy to bring about the necessary changes to restore balance within. 

Reiki can be particularly helpful during times of stress, emotional and physical upset and transitional periods to help ground and stabilise. 

An hour for treatment is recommended and costs £35.
